A Parker 95 Insignia Set of fountain pen and pencil, gold filled fileté pattern of bold lines, made in France in 1992. The cap band has the Parker name and logo and the date code “IIA” for 2Q’92.
The 95 was introduced in 1988 to replace the Parker Arrow. The Insignia was the top of the 95 range and in 1992 was priced at $95, the pencil at about $50. The 95 was relatively short-lived, replaced by the Sonnet in 1994.
The fountain pen is 13.2 cm closed and 14.4cm when the cap is posted, with black cap and barrel jewels. It has the converter as well as taking cartridges. The partially hooded nib is gold plated over steel and is a medium point.
The matching pencil is 13.1cm and takes 0.5mm leads, ejected by pressing the top of the black cap jewel. Under the cap is an unused eraser and spare leads.
CONDITION: excellent; minor signs of use but no brassing, a very striking set.
