A slender Waterman’s 402 eyedropper in black hard rubber with smooth sterling silver overlay and number 2 fine flexible nib.
The overlay has full London hallmarks for 1914 including the maker’s mark for “FDW” and the barrel end has the IDEAL globe logo and “Waterman’s Fountain Pen” imprint. The indicia is blank.
The pen is 14.5cm closed and 16.5cm with the cap posted.
The Waterman’s 14k New York #2 nib is fine point with nice flex. The feed has the Waterman’s imprint and patent date.
Smooth silver pens are actually less common than engraved pens.
CONDITION: Excellent: the overlay has only minor marks and no personalisation. The cap fits securely both closed and posted. The nib is a smooth and flexible writer.
