This is a really fine example of a 1950 Jumbo Japanese Eyedropper. It’s in nearly perfect cosmetic condition, with the black urushi holding up its luster. There’s a bit of plating loss on the cap band. The pen measures 15.5cm capped, the barrel diameter is 2.5cm wide, and the section is approx.. 1.7cm. This makes it very ergonomic to use, instead of many Jumbo pens with very wide sections that are very impractical to use. The big bonus on this pen is the very large and rare 14K gold nib. Nearly all of these pens have gold plated nibs or smaller gold nibs, but this example is equipped with a glorious large and thick solid gold 14k firm nib. The nib is equivalent to a vintage Pilot size 20, so it’s a rare and significant nib. It will need its seals to be replaced. $400 with free delivery within the US.
