Not exactly what you expected to see, right? This is a Nakaya Kyoto 'Nishijin-ori' textile Pen pouch for 5 pens. The following description is directly from Nakaya's site:
"Pen pouch made from Nishijin textile."Nishijin ori" ("ori"means textile) is a most famous, highest class cloth in Japan. Each thread is dyed before weaving with a technique called "saki-some". The strings comes from cloth to the surface and gives a gorgeous feeling and volume. The length: 29 cm, the side: 33 cm. (Product may be slightly different because of the handmade.)"
This beautiful wrap measures approximately 4 inches x 8 inches when closed and approximately 7 1/2 inches x 12 inches when open. The inside is soft black material sewn with individual pouches large enough to hold your largest pens without contact such as the Nakaya Dorsal Fins shown in the last picture below (pens are NOT INCLUDED in the sale).
I do not recall having seen these pouches on the website of the sole US dealer and Nakaya's own site lists them as "Sold Out". The pouch is brand new, never used except for these pictures.
