Available are a fountain pen and a ballpoint. They are being sold individually, not as a set. These are the gold filled versions of the Cross 150th Anniversary pen, a long sold out edition commemorating Cross's 150th in 1996. The pens are 12kt 1/20 Gold Filled, with a delicate, engraved chevron pattern. There are sets of black enamel bands on the cap and barrel, and the end caps and section are black resin. The pens have a substantial feel in the hand, but are surprisingly light and well balanced for an all metal pen.
The fountain pen's nib is 18k gold, with a unique engraving. I believe these nibs were, like the early Townsends, made by Pelikan. This one has a unique two toned design, with the engraving of a lion's face. It is a medium. The pen fills by cartridge or converter, which is included.
The fountain pen is #2336 of 2750 made. The ballpoint is 191 of 2450.
The pens come with their complete packaging, which is pretty impressive. They both come in a substantial cherry wood case with a matching cherry wood pen stand and a Cross plaque you can choose to attach to the base. Each also comes with a polishing cloth. The fountain pen also comes with a converter, a bottle of ink, and a beautiful cut crystal inkwell. The packaging in the photo goes with the fountain pen.
Both pens are NOS, never used, mint as can be, and come with all the appropriate packaging included. The ballpoint will likely need a new refill, since it is 25 years old...
The fountain pen originally retailed for $1000. I'm asking $800 shipped.
The ballpoint originally retailed for $500, I'm asking $375 Shipped.
Payment by Paypal, first 'I want it' gets it. Prices include insured USPS Priority Mail. Overseas shipping at cost, though it may be prohibitively expensive based on the size of these boxes! Feel free to message with any questions.
Best,
Doug
