The Patron of Art Edition Henry E. Steinway refers to the classic beauty of a Steinway piano. An artfully skeletonised solid 750 gold piano frame decorates the cap of the 888 Edition. Through the delicately crafted skeletonised cap, the Au 750 gold nib (Medium) can be seen, finely embellished with a filigree portrait of Steinway. The barrel features a depiction of one octave of piano keys in black and white. The barrel’s design celebrates the ezquisite balance, flexibility and smoothness that make a Steinway keyboard so unique. The pattern on the cap ring is inspired by the décor of the domed rotunda in the Steinway Hall in New York. The clip resembles the patented screw used for bending the grand piano rim, with the Montblanc emblem in mother of pearl. ´Steinway & Sons´, the name to be found above the keyboard of every Steinway piano, is engraved on the cone ring of these Limited Edition pens.
With every design detail, the Montblanc Patron of Art Edition Henry E. Steinway 888 Limited Edition fountain pen captures the remarkable achievements and personality of Henry E. Steinway: the father of the grand piano, and one of the great patrons of the arts.
