If you like rare birds, consider this beautiful early edition Pelikan M760 Jubilee Anniversary pen that was issued to mark the 150th anniversary of Pelikan.
This model was produced during the period from 1988 to 1995. This piece is from early in the run, as can be noted due to the presence of the engraving on the cap "Pelikan W. Germany 1838-1988". The dates were dropped from the engraving on pieces produced after the early part of the run.
This great condition and highly collectible M760 is equipped with a 14c gold nib in Fine. It is piston filled with an ink capacity of about 1.4 ml. The 760 is similar dimensions to the 400 series and it measures approximately 123 mm long capped, 120 mm long uncapped, and 145 mm long posted. The pen features a barleycorn pattern and a green ink window which remains nice and clear.
Another unusual feature of this early piece is that it comes in a very attractive display box with a bottle of blue Pelikan ink. As can be seen in the pictures, the inside insert of the box lid is foam to protect the ink bottle, but that inside insert of the box lid can be reversed to provide a most attractive shelf display.
The pen is in excellent condition. It writes without hard starting or skipping, as can be seen in the writing sample included with the photos below. However, the nib produces quite a bit of feedback and I recommend the buyer allow in their thinking that they may wish to have the nib smoothed and/or tuned. The box has some wear and a side flap of the top is torn at the seams but is still attached to the top. It even retains the small sticker inside that shows how to reverse the lid insert for display purposes.
