* OSU scored a 196.325, and placed third in the session, so missed qualifying for the Finals on Sunday.
* OSU had the second highest score among the 16 teams in the Second Round that did not qualify to Regional Finals; highest was (#19 ranked) Iowa’s 196.750, lowest of those qualifying was (#18 ranked) Ohio State’s 196.550 – the only non-seed to make Regional Finals!
* OSU finishes the season Ranked 21st, Rankings for Teams #9 to #36, are based on “NQS” = “Last” Regional Score + “Team NQS” … OSU passed former #17 Auburn, #21 NCSU, #23 Denver, & #24 BYU.
Below are reports on the competition & results …
Taylor DeVries with OSU’s highest score, a 9.925 on Bars, tying for 1st, and Sophia Esposito with a 39.300 5th AA, in Session 1, were the only OSU gymnasts with a theoretical chance of qualifying to NCAA Championships, but were eliminated from the running with higher bars & AA scores in Session 2 from non-advancing Iowa gymnasts (& others advancing to Regional Finals). Taylor finished T-4th on Bars & Sophia 11th AA.
The placing of OSU gymnasts (with 9.800+ scores) were …

(I didn’t watch much of this replay, but it’s a bit annoying to hear the former gymnast from Florida (State??) calling OSU “Oregon”! I also wish they would fix some of the transitions from full screen to split-screen in the middle of a routine, where the screen goes black & you miss a second or two of the 1st routine!)
Go Beavs!!,
