on 3/10/2025, 4:16 pm, in reply to "Top-55 Rankings for Monday 3/10 (Week 10) ... "
OSU opponents' Team names shown in bold.
These are Current Ranks by NQS, on Monday 3/10 for the teams that have the "potential" to be Top-36 on Monday 3/17.
For each team I list the current NQS, the season High, the Score to be Dropped (which is the low of the six in the NQS if they have an away meet this week, or they have more than 3 away scores in their top six, ... otherwise they can only drop their low home score)...
Maximum Potential NQS(= Current NQS + (High Score - Score to be Dropped)/5)
NOTE: Seven of these 44 teams have two meets this week ... #6 Cal (Home/Home), #13 Stanford (H/Away), #26 ASU (A/A), #30 Maryland (A/H), #35 Towson (A/A), #36 GWU (H/A), & #38 WVU (A/A) ... they can potentially move higher than indicated below, #6 Cal probably can only get as high as #6 with their two home meets, #13 Stanford very unlikely to get above #9 even with the Home & Away meets, #26 ASU ... maybe able to get as high as ~#22 ... UW drew the short stick with two teams just above them and one close behind them, all with two meets this weekend ... making it tough to get into Regional qualifying position this week!
No teams in top-50 have a bye-week this week.
SEC Conference Meets:
Only the top-8 (of 9) SEC teams will compete in the Conference Championships ...
So whichever of #9 UGA, #10 UK, #12 Alabama, #14 Auburn, or #16 Arkansas is the lowest ranked on 3/17 will not have another meet before Regionals ... (it's unlikely to be the top-3 of those) ... and if they are ranked #15 or #16 prior to the conference meet weekend ... there is a chance they will drop out of the Top-16 seeds!
As a "reminder" these ranks are the THEORETICAL maximum ranges ... "High Rank" assumes that the team scores a season high and any team that has the potential to get to a higher NQS than them does not (so assume no improvement in NQS for all other teams) ... the "Low Rank" assume a team does not improve their NQS (scores no higher than their "score to be dropped") and every other team that could affect their rank scores a season high.
So (as typical with most ranges) ... OSU's high rank of 9 is pretty unlikely and their low rank of 16 is not likely ... I'd say, my guess, is a rank range of #11 to #14 ... if OSU scores a 197.525 or higher means a rank no lower than #14 on 3/17, ... that's with the possibility of Stanford passing OSU in that case ... they would need a season high (197.400+ at home) then a 197.050 away score (a 197.125 away as the second score would pass OSU, even if OSU scored a 197.600+).
(Team's without a "Low Rank", last number, are those that could drop out of the Top-36, or are not currently in Top-36.)
