It has been awarded since 1982 … to OSU’s Mary Ayotte-Law! In 1991 to OSU’s Joy Selig! In 1994 to OSU’s Chari Knight!
In 20205 to … ??
I feel slightly sorry() for some of these gymnasts being up against Jade Carey ... kinda like some may have felt being up against Haleigh Bryant last year ... like Audrey Davis (OU), now nominated for the 2nd year in a row!?!?
Gymnasts from four different schools (LSU, Michigan, UCLA, & Utah) have won this award 4 times, gymnasts from four different schools (Alabama, UGA, Minnesota, & OSU) have won this award 3 times!
(Last year 50 gymnasts were nominated (by their head coaches) … and the six finalists were announced about 25 days later … so if the same is true this year, the finalists should be announced on March 28th!?)
The winner should be announced on the Tuesday (April 15h) after NCAA Regionals, and before NCAA Championships in Fort Worth!
Go Beavs!!,
Richard
