powHER of the Pac: Oregon State's Sylvia Moore
(Sylvia was the first OSU Gymnastics Coach... 1967-75!)
In other news...
The Pac-12 is "loosing" UCLA & USC to the Big-10 (will be 16 teams then)... they will start playing football starting with the 2024 season.
I assume UCLA Gymnastics will compete 2 more seasons in the Pac-12.
(Texas & Gymnastics National Champions Oklahoma will be moving to the SEC at the same time.)
The "Conference of Champions" will then be the Big-10 ... although the Pac-12/10 can still claim the "school of Champions" (Stanford... who has ~12 more National Championships than UCLA).
From today's Pac-12 statement on this news...
"... We’ve long been known as the Conference of Champions, and we’re unwavering in our commitment to extend that title...."
Hahahaha... 🤣😂
Hard to "extend" when you are ~228 National Championships behind the new Big-10!!
If UCLA & USC were going to the SEC (or Mountain West) instead... National Championships would be... Pac-10/12 314
Big-10 312
On second thought, I guess those Championships will always be "Pac-12" Championships?? So UCLA & USC will be 15th & 16th in Big-10 National Championships... both with 0?
Go Beavs!!,
Richard
