Welcome to the
Unofficial Message Board for Oregon State Gymnastics!
At least OSU went up 2 after a good Regional performance... rather than dropping 13 after 2018 Regionals!
Final Rankings
The 2019 ranking rules aren't "published" anywhere (but were defined by a WCGA Committee), but this is how they work...
Depending on the last stage they competed in, teams are ranked by either their final standings in the meet or a combination of their meet score + NQS. The formula breaks down as follows:
1 - 4 (NCAA Finals)
5-8 (NCAA Semifinals)
9- 16 (Regional Finals + NQS)
17-32 (Regional Day 2 + NQS)
33-36 (Regional Day 1 + NQS)
37+ (NQS)
"... both Temple and Auburn qualified for regionals, but were unable to compete. As such, they automatically fall to the end of the regional qualifiers and are listed in order of NQS. There are also a number of teams (10) that are unable to compute an NQS at all due to lack of meets (or pulling out of season altogether). They are listed at the end by the straight average of all meets. ... "
Go Beavs!!,
Richard
