Vault Qualifying Results
I have to note a large caveat on my posted WC Rankings ...
I knew the FIG had said points would be reallocated in the final rankings to remove gymnasts that were no longer eligible ... but from what I read I interpreted that to mean only those gymnasts on teams that helped them qualify to the Olympics at the 2018 or 2019 World Championships ... which there were only a few (1 on Vlt & a couple on Flr) ...
But, I've read something on balancebeamstituation.com that leads me to believe that they will also reallocate the points of the individual gymnasts that qualified to the Olympics through the 2019 World Championships.
So the points (and rankings of those below Jade) are effectively different ... but still behind Jade as of today.
For Jade, currently, on Vault she had 25pts from 2018 Cottbus ... the only gymnast above her in that event is still eligible (so she still is at 85pts). On Floor where she had 16pts from 2018 Cottbus ... Flavia of BRA had 30pts and qualified to the Olympics ... so Jade would be bumped up to 18pts (78pts Total)... but Mori of ITA would also be bumped up by 2pts to 20pts (70pts Total ... same as Ferarri) ... and if she wins on Sunday would be at 80pts.
In the end it doesn't matter ... if Jade gets to 90pts of vlt, flr, or both ... then it comes down to whether any others have 90pts ... then they compare scores (total of the three 30pts events) ... and Jade would likely win one of those tie-breakers ... if not both.
Also, if this reallocation happens as I think it will ... only Linmin Yu on Vault acquires a 30pt "win" (up from her current 20pt 3rd place) ... & she could win on Saturday for 2 (to match Jade's two wins) ... and on Floor only Jade Barbosa gains a win after Flavia of BRA is removed ... so currently on Floor after 2019 Cottbus, Jade will still be the only gymnast with two 30pt wins ... anyone else would have to win the last 2 WCs to tie Jade ... IF Jade wins the next one!
Go Beavs!!,
Richard
