Welcome to the
Unofficial Message Board for Oregon State Gymnastics!
(I feel like we're missing something considering we waited 3+ hours for this?) FYI, Florida made it to NCAA National Championships the 1st 18 years (1982 to 1999)... missed in 2000... made it to NCAA National Championships the next 18 years (2001 to 2018) ... missed in 2019!
Beavers Punch Ticket to NCAA Championships
"...
Needing a 9.750 to secure their spot, Yanish turned in a fantastic routine..."
Actually with a 9.700 ... OSU would have tied Florida & would have won the tie breaker (counting all 24 scores)... since OSU went 24 for 24... & Florida would be coulting a 9.200 fall on beam!
Same as when OSU knocked UGA out of Nationals in 2010 in the Missouri Regional!!
----------------------------------------
ETA: In 2010 ... UGA did not count a fall, but had 1 fall on Bars (23 for 24) ... so OSU won the tie-breaker counting 24! 196.275 - 196.275 for Tie-2nd behind host & 3rd seed Missouri ... with final tie-breaker OSU's 235.200 to UGA's 234.800!
If Kaitlyn had scored a 9.700 for a 196.700 tie with Florida ... the tie-breaker would have been OSU 235.625 to UF 235.200!
Also, at Missouri, in the final rotation, UGA was on beam, OSU was in a bye, ... the last gymnast for UGA (Courtney McCool) needed a 9.925 for UGA to win ... the highest beam score in the meet was Missouri's Sarah Shire (now Penn State Head Coach) 9.875 ... she scored a 9.900 for the Beam win.

Go Beavs!!,
