Jade Carey is scheduled to compete at the first of the Individual Apparatus World Cup Series later this month in Cottbus Germany! The meet starts on Thanksgiving Day (11/22) with Vault & Bars qualifying, with Beam & Floor qualifying is on Friday 11/23 (both 7:30a – 11a PT, including 4 MAG apparatuses events each day), then the two sets of finals are on Saturday (11/24) & Sunday (11/25) respectively (5a – 8a PT, each day). Jade is “entered” on all 4 apparatus, (currently) she shown starting 9th of 25 on Vault, 31st of 33 on Bars, 17th of 39 on Beam, and 34th of 36 on Floor!
For her to qualify for an individual spot at the Olympics through this Apparatus World Cup Series … she has to place 1st on at least one apparatus … defined as the gymnast with the highest total score, using the sum of three highest scores, from any of the 8 World Cup Events. If she qualifies to the Olympics using this method, she would then be qualified to compete in the Olympics’ qualifications on any/all events (including AA)!
