A tie...!
Maddie Gardiner & Taylor Ricci
It was announced that Dani Dessaints will be one of the Team Captains next season! (This past season the Captains were Kaytianna McMillan & Taylor Ricci.)
Also announced, Taylor Ricci will be an(the?) OSU nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year! this month ... the next step would be picking the Pac-12 Conference's 1 (or 2) Woman of the Year nominee(s) from the 12-to-24 nominees (in 2013 Stephanie McGregor was the Pac-12 was OSU's nominee) in July ... then 10 are selected by the committee for Division I (30 total for the 3 Divisions) out if 200+ (400-500+ for the 3 Divisions) ... from those 10, 3 are selected as finalists in September(?) ... the NCAA Woman of the Year is then selected from the 9 finalists (3 Divisions) and announced in October in Indianapolis (the top 30 semi-finalists are honored there).
Something I don't understand ... to be eligible... "the student-athlete must complete her undergraduate degree by the summer term of 2017"? I didn't think Taylor was finishing her Bachelor's degree this summer?
(ETA: I'm thinking this is a line that wasn't updated from the 2016 page ... and should read "...summer term of 2018"!)
Go Beavs!!,
Richard
