Ocean Wreck Divers would like to thank everyone who attended and helped make our 27th annual scuba flea market a success! A special thanks to Fred Barthes, Gene Peterson and Dan Lieb, who gave excellent presentations during the market. Thanks everyone and we look forward to seeing you next year.
Besides a great flea market, this year Ocean Wreck Divers will also have several speakers giving presentations at the market.
At 10 AM, Fred Barthes of North East Diving Equipment Group will give a 30 minute presentation on the history of diving- "Diving - from Leonardo DaVinci to Pink Floyd!"
At 11 am, Captain Gene Peterson, owner of Atlantic Divers, veteran shipwreck explorer and expedition leader, will give a presentation of shipwrecks discovered and identified from North Carolina to Nova Scotia- "Discoveries and Recoveries"
At 12 Noon, Dan Lieb, the president of New Jersey Historical Divers Association, scuba diver, avocational archaeologist and historian, will give a presentation of shipwreck mapping- "Why Map Shipwrecks"
We are looking forward to these exciting presentations!
Snow this weekend, so get down in the basement and pull out that gear you don't use anymore! It's always a nice day to meet w dive buddies and see what the dive boat captains have planned for the season. Some FAQ's I am getting: 1) Yes there are still tables available, here is the link to reserve a table- http://oceanwreckdivers.com/links/20...eservation.pdf Here is the flea market flyer link http://oceanwreckdivers.com/links/2015_Scuba_Flyer.pdf 2) Yes, there is new gear, dive shops sell new gear to make room for new inventory etc. 3) Yes there is used gear, everything from "used once and never dove again" to well used and everything in between. 4) Yes- Haggle, politely. Some people have firm prices but many are looking to get rid of gear or upgrade. If you have a question, post it on here or send to events@oceanwreckdivers.com and I will get back to you. Thanks, John
