Lady Godiver dive report 10-25-14

Brian, Harry and Jack joined me today for a chance to dive. The forecast was not great with strong winds out the NNW. We figured we would try a wreck about 5 miles off Seaside and if it was too rough we would come in. Jack, Brian and Harry got in a dive on the first site while I ran the boat and picked them up after their dive ( no hook in). Depth was about 75 ft , bottom temps mid 60s and vis 15 to 2o ft. Lots of eggers spots , some sea bass and blackfish. |
Next stop was a small wooden snag about 2 miles inshore ( we decided it was too rough to stay out there)I went in here and vis was about 10ft, same eggers and small lobster around. I managed one keeper lobster and a nice blackfish ( just under 12lbs)
Last stop was a little more inshore and south. Same bottom conditions but not much seafood worth taking . I did manage 4 nice triggers and another keeper lobster.
WE were going to hit one more shallower wreck on the way in but it was occupied by a fishing boat so we just headed in.
The first dive was a little rough on the surface but the rest of the day the conditions were comfortable (inshore).
