TUNA SEAZURE Trip Report and Schedule

Saturday 6/14/14

As is always the case....best diving of the year is had when I'm not around.
Was nice to hear we got 2 nice Fluke and that might be the start with the temps coming up...............So I will share the report that was sent to me!

"I sent you two pictures this morning from Saturday. The fluke were 19" and 25". The water was warm at 57 degrees and visibility was 50' feet.

Surface current was ripping again.

We had a lot of fun, though Bart had some issues...which I am sure you are aware of. Make sure you mention that Bart got NOTHING (no sinkers, no fish, no lobsters, notta)"

Although I have some reservations with the observation (they seem to good to be true) I was more intrigued by the lack of production from Barticus Maximus.
There's also some rumblings of the line coming out??????? that will require further investigation.

Anyway you look at it, it sounded like a fun day.

Sunday 6/15/14

We would run a little light on divers, but Cappy wanted to get out there and the weather looked like it was gonna cooperate.

Some more Fluke and Bugs and some Sea Bass to round out the catch.
Viz about 15-20 ft and 52* on the bottom. Current let off a little too.

We have interest in Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
We need divers all 4 days to make them go.

We are wide open for Friday, we may have one spot left for Saturday. We need a few more for Sunday to make it happen. Weather looks to be cooperating and fishing and bugging has been good to. Give the shop a call if you want to get wet.

Well......thats not what you told me on the phone........you told me "because the boat had come un-done you put the chain in your teeth while you stabbed the Fluke with your inflator hose"

This weekend do to the windy weather the Tuna Seasure stayed close - for the last few weeks we have been doing well on seabass as the limit is still large - well, let me change that to some of us have been doing well, others continue their yearly 1 fish per dive maximum limit as they seem have issues under water - i of course fill my limit using my pole spear and my fish are all over 20inches - ok one was 19.5 but that was because i shot two at a time.

Saturday, we have been hopeing for some fluke and it seems the water is still a bit cold - my question is where r they hiding in the cold? - anyway we went shallow to the dykes and i tied in - Jimmy has been sick so Brian K filled in for him - Brian has a ton of experience and for someone that does not eat to much sea creatures he is very good at getting them - i tied to one one of the interior eye beams and started off - lots of sea bass but no fluke to be seen - some surge but not bad - lots of mussels - blackfish and such -

Let me say this - last week i got lectured for bringing back 5 very plump lobsters because i was the first in the water - of course it did not matter that two other divers had passed the lobster right in front of me and never saw them due to their underwater ADHD!!!!lol come on, that's a good one!!!!- whatever, all i can say is if you r afraid of being pinched, dont cry when someone else brings back the bounty of the sea-

ok that said, i figured i would only hunt the trophy fluke that i knew were somewhere around the wreck - after a while, just for the heck of it, i went back to check on the hook - the extreme seas had caused the hook to pull the i-beam loose on one end and it was banging like we all have seen in the past - you know how that is - you r looking at it underwater and r like i am not going anywhere near that thing lololol - in my attempt to adjust the situation things got worse..... - i then spent the next 15 minutes fixing the entire situation - of course i am an expert so it was not so hard ......lol nervously -

OK so that explains why i didn't see that giant fluke that Brian knifed - but what about all the rest of the big game hunters - that fish was bigger than my 130cf tank i was wearing - i guess somethings r better left unexplained... lolololol

one thing for sure is the water is warming up and the vis is getting better - with a little luck the weather will be with us for a while - As always its a ton of fun on the Tuna Seasure
