None of the "pots off the reefs" legislation has been allowed to move forward in the Assembly in Trenton. No NJDEP regulaion has been published for public comment either. It is still "legal" for the potters to drop on NJ's artificial reefs. Delaware's request for Special Management Zones for their artificial reefs in the EEZ is in the hands of NMFS's Northeast Regional Administrator for a yea or nay to go to public comment in the Federal Register.
We were out with the Blue Fathoms 2 Thursdays ago and a lobster boat came by and started dropping pots while we had divers in the water. He was 75-100' of our port side and could care less about the divers right below him
