Left my "favorite" grapple and lift bag on the Maurice Tracy

If anyone happens to stumble on my "favorite" grapple with 70lb liftbag attached on the Maurice Tracy, there is a reward for its return!!! It was last seen forward of the boilers towards the port side of the debris field. Looks like the guys who dove the Maurice Tracy this weekend did not find it so Im assuming it was picked up earlier. The reward may include a dive trip to test the hook and bag to see if they still function properly.

Are your name and phone number on it?

lol...tell Bart, I mean whoever found it, I can prove its mine. Its footprint should match perfectly when placed over the rust spots on the bottom of my fish box.

Hi Gerard, We did look for it on Saturday and planned on bringing it up for you. I looked around too and could not find it, I went pretty far out in the sand and no luck. The viz was decent so if it was there one of us would of seen it...

I will take the dive trip though...

I appreciate it!!! Its only a cheap steel hook, but only a boat owner would understand the irreplaceable bond with a particular grapple...lol Cant wait to see you on the boat this year. We dove on Saturday and had a great day as well. Perfect sea conditions and great viz...lots of life in the water. The wrecks we visited were covered in seabass, blackfish and ling. Looks like its a good start to the year!!!

also does the bag have any marks on it? is it a REBAR hook?

Had a Scubamax 70lb closed cell bag attached. No rope/chain...just the hook. Might still have had some reel line hanging off of it depending on where it snapped

it is not yours but it may work out for you - its heavy enough for a lighter boat and has some chain on it - let me know if your interested

Is that the one you found on the Isaac and the lobsterman won't own up to being his? Might as well give to somebody that can use and appreciate since the lobsterman doesn't.

that is a funny story - i have never tried so hard to give something back - that thing should be in a museum or in a monster movie - the one being offered in a normal one but not the original

Yes it seems he is the go to guy for all things lost at sea. I do have a couple back up grapples but none of them will ever compare to, or take the place of, my long lost original.

Bart, I do appreciate the effort and offer! And my offer still stands to come out and join us for a dive(perfect opportunity to search your car and gear bag just in case)

Let me say this to all the Great thinkers out there that think i have your stuff or i am playing games with someone

1 - i dont have your stuff
2 - i am offended by your remark that my car or gear bag needs to be searched
3 - i have not been to that lump where you left your hook this year
4 - i offered you a replacement because i have more than a few and I AM A NICE GUY - I WAS OFFERING IT FOR FREE
5 - This is your problem, not mine - i go out of my way to give peoples shit back all the time - and i find hooks, wreck reels, gopro camaras, anchors with 35 feet of chain, lobster gear, wizard seabass anchors, party boat anchors and a ton of other stuff left behind all the time
6 - imo keeping others peoples stuff is bad mojo, just like accusing someone, trying to help you out, of stealing from you
7 - do me a favor and stay away from me

and anyone that does not like my attitude can go pound salt

#1 I was totally joking. I never ever said or thought you found my hook. I know my hook is not in your car or gear bag. I don't even know if you drive a car or use a gear bag. And my hook wouldn't fit in your gear bag if you did. I thought my humor in saying that was pretty obvious. Remember that it was someone else who mentioned you in this post, not me.
#2 I was offering to take you diving for offering the hook you mentioned as a gesture of thanks. I appreciated your offer and I also find a lot of stuff and have gone out of my was to return it to the owner if possible.

For a guy that seems to have a pretty good sense of humor most if the time in just about every one of your posts that I've ever read, Im surpirised by your response, But I thank you once again for offering the hook. I apologize that my comment was obviously misinterpreted. And my offer to join us for a dive still stands.
