The Independence headed out Saturday but the weather kept us in shore for the day. Unfortunately the weather kept us in again on Sunday. We are definitely looking forward to some favorable weather to enjoy the fall diving conditions.
We have the Resor on the schedule for the upcoming weekend. Tim's Dive Center has both days chartered, call Tim at 814 421 2768 to sign up for either of these trips.
Saturday October 20th - Resor (125 fsw)(2 spots remaing) It has been awhile since we have been out to the Resor, the weather keeps getting in the way. She was a 450 foot tanker that was torpedoed in February 1942 with a load of crude oil bound for Massachusetts. There is a lot of structure at the stern, and of course the stern gun.
Sunday is planned for the Stolt. Another tanker, but this one met its demise as the result of a collision in 1964 that sheared the ship into two pieces. The stern sank, the bow was repaired. Due to its size and its position on its starboard side there is a lot of relief making this a favorite site with many possibiliites to explore.

The following weekend we are starting to dial things back to just one trip each weekend on Saturdays.
Saturday October 27th - "Oil Wreck" (175 fsw) The Scuba Connection
The Ayuroaca is known as the "Oil Wreck" due to the oil sheen sometimes seen on the surface. Another victim of a collision, this freighter was cut in two and both the bow and stern went down.
