Saturday the 18th – No Gills – Stolt 130’ - Visibility is usually excellent this far off-shore, sometimes good enough to see the top of the wreck from the surface and the sight of this huge wreck when it first looms into view as you descend the anchor line is extraordinary. There is something awesome about this shipwreck that is somehow lacking in the nearby planned artificial reefs. Kevin can be reached at 609-352-5983.
Sunday the 19th – Lakeland Divers – Arundo 130’ - On April 28th 1942 the Arundo was torpedoed by the U-136. The vessel was a powered by coal fired steam and is 412 feet in length. At the time of its sinking the Arundo was carrying a cargo of cases of evaporated milk, canned herring, lubricating oil, 123 three ton GMC trucks, 2 locomotives and 5000 cases of beer. The wreck now lies in 130 feet of water next to the mud hole Lakeland can be reached at 073-887-0194. As of Monday the 13th Lakeland still has a few spots available. This not an entry level dive, anyone signing up needs appropriate experience diving to this depth and in these conditions. The Sea Lion reserves the right to determine whether a diver has sufficient experience for this dive.
Next Week
Wednesday the 22nd – OPEN – This will most likely be a digging trip, conditions permitting. For availability and details give me a call at either 973-887-DEEP (3337) or my cell.
Saturday the 25th Tridents – lobsters and fish 100> - After getting blown out two weeks ago the Trident’s freezers are probably getting a bit thin and they’re going to be hungry. Although Brett indicated awhile back that they were running a bit light for this dive I doubt that’s still the case but you might want to give Bret a call to see if they have a spot open. Bret can be reached at 973-876-5896.
Sunday the 26th – Metuchen Underwater Divers, M.U.D. – Last time the M.U.D. divers were out we completed the task of attaching the memorial plaque to the M60 tank. This time they’ve indicated that they want to get to something a bit further off. Give Kerry a call for space availability and destination 980-513-6086.
Captain Al SEA LION
NOTE: One thing to keep in mind is that OPEN destinations are really just suggestions on my part, unless the trip is scheduled as a “Special” but If you have somewhere you want to get to let me know and if we have the divers and the weather that’s where we’ll head.
ATTENTION
The full 2012 SEA LION charter schedule is posted on the web site www.atlantic-wreckdivers.com
The Sea Lion does run a limited weekday schedule and we’re always looking to put together weekday trips. If you’re interested in diving during the week, let me know which day/days work for you and we will try to put a boat together and don’t forget the Saturday afternoon dives.
We have established a diver’s e-mail list and if you’d like to be included send the message “please add me to the SEA LION diver list” to sealion@atlantic-wreckdivers.com
