LadyGodiver report for Sat 5/12/2012

Jack, Harley , John and I got out Sat for our first dive of the year out of Barnegat Inlet. We had nice calm seas and generally good conditions.
The first stop was one of the NW barges where many lobster were spotted but turned out that most had eggs. The site was also loaded with sea bass.
Next stop was another of the nw barges with the same fish but more lobsters with out eggs this time. We also got some nice ling on this one.
Last stop was an old fishing boat reef which usually produces but must have been recently hit. A few more lobster came up and a few fish but it was mostly picked over.
Bottom temp on all dives was about 50 and the vis was 10 to 15 foot.
Hit the dock at around 2 pm.

Big B, you DO know that lead is a very dangerous, toxic substance ? Too much can cause brain defects and learning..... never mind.

Hey Capt Howard, you passed me as you steamed NW. I was part of that fleet fishing for striped bass. I tried you on the radio but you didn't respond. Glad you had some good dives, I'll be out there Sunday...

We could have used you as there was so much lead down there it was hard to see the wreck.

Mountains!! I don't even want to go back as its more like a lead junkyard that a wreck. I actually had sinkers snagged on my fins when i came up.
