TAUTOG RECREATIONAL SEASONS AND LIMITS

DATES # FISH MINIMUM SIZE

Jan. 1 - Feb. 28 4 fish @ 15"

Mar. 1 - Mar. 31 CLOSED

Apr. 1 - Apr. 30 4 fish @ 15"

May 1 - Jul. 26 CLOSED

Jul. 27 - Aug. 31 1 fish @ 15"

Sept. 1 - Oct. 17 CLOSED

Oct. 18 - Nov. 15 1 fish @ 15"

Nov. 16 - Dec. 31 4 fish @ 15"

PLEASE!!!! most divers shoot the just legal ones, if any!!!!

Give ME a break.... After what i saw this weekend, most of the mighty spearfisheran cant even shoot the little ones.

This weekend i was practically ripping my hair out trying to get a rebreather spearfisherman, (who was wearing american flag underwear lolol) to shoot this BIG tog i found on the Cranford ferry. The big fish was hiding in a space under the decking and all he had to do was shoot the fish..I find the fish and i am waiting forever for him to come down the line...

Finally he get there, he had no idea where the fish was hiding, so i show him. Then when he sees it he take forever to load his gun, because he has to connect his computer to his wrist at the same time ( what with these rebreather people?)... Finally i am holding light ( I am out of my mind, JUST shoot the fish!!!!), so he can see the fish and He SHOOTS!!! and out come this barely legal baby tog - I am like WTF!!!!!!!!! He shot the WRONG FISH LOLOL- Hes looking at me like its the fish - I am looking back screaming ITS the Wrong FISH!!!! lol oh man was i laughing lololol

I am beginning to think the tog population is pretty safe no matter what size the limit is... maybe its just me lol

How big was the fish? Was it as big as the others you found

LOL.. I was not there to judge but fish usually looks much bigger when it is deep in a hole. Maybe it wasn’t even there by the time this spearfisherman got there. We will never know..
