Banned From ScubaBoard !!

Can you believe it ?!?! What a bunch of douche bags !! There was a story in the news recently about how terrorists (Islamists) were demanding that the country of the Maldives close all resort spas, stop alcohol and pork sales and stop direct flights from Israel. So the government caved and said 'O.K.' to some of the stuff. No beers and babybacks ? Screw that !! So under the 'Maldives' section of SB, I, along with others were posting questions about this when BOOM !! All posts on the subject disappeared and I was banned !! O.K. maybe I was more 'persistent' than the others, but hey, I was actually looking into going there (or the Philippines or Thailand). I'd be laying out a ton of cash so I was going to look into this stuff. But now ? F THE RAGS !! Think I'll do a liveaboard in Vancouver B.C. instead. And one last thing... ScubaBoard is run by a bunch of dirtbags !!!

I looked up DonkeyPunch to see if you posted yet on SB and got other websites in Google. Perhaps it's to my credit not previously understanding the definition of the term. LOL!

Seems SB 'took' my 'DonkeyPunch' screenname but they won't send me a confirming e-mail. So D.P. has been thwarted, for now. There is more than one way to skin a donkey.

That is a great screen name, though. A few weeks ago on Jeopardy one of the 'answers' was "In boxing, a punch to the back of the head" The dude buzzed in and said, "Donkey punch !!" I laughed my ass off !! You can go on YouTube now and see it.

I believe Scubaboard was sued by a Maldives dive operator that got trashed on their board. After a couple years, the suit was settled in 2011. I bet (don't know for sure) that the settlement spelled out no bad-mouthing the Maldives on Scubaboard.

It's pretty simple though, spend your dive dollars in a country that likes the USA!

I say to hell with those who hate us...Go to Malta... Italian, British, they speak English, I got blown out and only had one day from a cruise ship. they love food of all kinds, Tons of WW11 wrecks from 45 to 180ft., caves, ledges, warm Med sea water and only 8hrs.Plus if you bring a non-diving person there is tons of site seeing, lots of ancient ruins, history, etc..(for the non diving friends). Damn this 35hr plane rides to South Pacific for those who dont want us...

There is a Canadian liveaboard working the west coast from BC down to Guadalupe Island that doesn't serve Canadian bacon with breakfast or other pork products at any time.

I know a local boat owner that didn't allow bananas on his boat. A captain setting rules for his boat is one thing, but an entire country to satisfy a minority is another. A supposedly "free" internet site censoring participants for fear of offending hate mongers is insanely politically correct - and wrong.

Yeah, I know. Mike is an observant Jew and doesn't allow pork on his boat. Turkey bacon and sausage only. I've been out on the Nautilus Explorer three times. Socorro, Guadalupe and Sea of Cortez. He just got another boat, The Swell for the Alaska and B.C. trips. But that's O.K. because he DOES have dungeness crab night (steamed on the gas grills and served on the top deck on Chinette) and a pretty well-stocked bar with a dozen single malts and about thirty micro brews and imports. They're something the RAGS will NEVER have. So......it's still "F THE RAGS AND S.B.", I'm off to B.C. !!!

Yeah, you're right. The whole 'bottom/filter feeder' thing. But they aren't cooked in the kitchen and they're served on disposable plates (by goyem) so they don't 'contaminate' the kitchen or any utensils besides the ones they use just for that purpose. And I'm sure Mike doesn't partake in the feast. I know on the Alaska and B.C. trips they have the crab-fest on a beach.

It's funny you mention that, Big B. I said the same thing (except for the Moon Snail part). I think that was where the wheels started falling off for me with the S.B. mods. I know there was at least one dive op from over there that didn't want this Taliban-type stuff being spread around. Screw him !! What if you dropped all this cash to go over there and when you get there you find out these kooks are running around protesting the infidels evil ways, jumping around in the streets in their underwear and you can't even get a cold one ? I friggin' hate them........ 'people'!! COME ON, GLOBAL WARMING !!!
