This Week Wednesday the 11th – OPEN - Lobsters and Fish 100> - I’ve listed this as a hunting trip but again destinations are subject to change based on the desires of those on-board.
Saturday the 14th – OPEN - Special Dredging trip 80> - This is scheduled to be a working dive on a wreck I’ve been looking to dig some holes in for awhile. Dredge dives are open to anyone; however there will be a three inch pump running most if not all of the day and if you’re looking for a quiet day at sea this won’t be one. Give me a call on my cell 201-401-4608 if you have any additional questions concerning this type of dive.
Sunday the 15th – OPEN – Brunette 80’ - The Brunette was a 274 ton screw propeller freighter, built in 1867 by Pusey & Jones Yards, Wilmington, Delaware. On February 1, 1870, the Brunette was en route from New York to Philadelphia with a general cargo. At 10:00 PM she collided with the Santiago de Cuba Captain George Hoffman found this wreck quite a few years back. When divers started to dig, they recovered crates of brown and white marble door knobs, pocket knives and bottles. All that is left of her is her propeller shaft, coal fired steam engine and boilers. The "Door Knob Wreck", as she is more commonly known, rests 200 feet away from the Cadet in 70 feet of water. The Brunette is still a great artifact wreck.
NOTE: One thing to keep in mind is that winter destinations are really just suggestions on my part, unless the trip is scheduled as a “Special” as is this Saturday’s but If you have somewhere you want to get to let me know and if we have the divers and the weather that’s where we’ll head.
Next Week Saturday the 21st – OPEN – Captain’s choice less than 100’ – Although I’m certainly open to suggestions I have a spot or two in mind that I’d like to put a diver or two on. Sunday the 22nd – OPEN – Mohawk 80’ - The Mohawk is always a good dive with something for everyone, whether you’re into lobsters and fish, artifacts, photography or just sightseeing. Sunk January 24th 1935 after colliding with the MV Talisman do to failure of the Mohawks steering gear.
ATTENTION
The tentative 2012 SEA LION charter schedule is posted on the web site www.atlantic-wreckdivers.com . Although I have confirmations from more than 90% of the charters be aware that the schedule “may” change slightly but if you’re looking to plan your 2012 diving season now’s the time.
