Robert Harris, Harry Rocher and I made it out today on our first dive of 2012. We had planned on checking some numbers up North and close in but when we saw the swells we decided to head out a bit. First stop was the Cobblestone where we had 2 to 3 ft vis or less on the bottom and about 10 ft on top of the wreck. Pretty crappy dive. I called Frank on the Sea Horse and found out he had better vis to the South so thats where we headed. The next stop was the Sea Girt wreck where we had about 25 ft or better vis. Not much sea food to be gathered but a very nice dive. Hopefully the vis up North gets better as we have planned a lot of exploring to do up that way this winter. We still have to spend some time exploring a new site we found at the end of last winter too.
Howie- I believe the visibility on dive number two was 30 feet and we had a great dive as the bottom is clean and the details of the wreck were easily identified. The sun was shining and the water was comfortable so I had a great day. We need to get back to the twins and finish the work there as well. :-)
I agree with your assessment of the vis. I was worried that if I sounded to optimistic no one would believe the report. Hopefully this vis will continue and move to other areas as well. That second dive made the day!!
