Bob Harris and I got out today on Lake Atlantic. There was a strong wind in the am but it died down around mid day. Our first stop was North of Shark River on the Bell Holder but the vis was only about 5 ft and there was not much life on it. It usually gives up some fish and a lobster or two but not this time. Next stop was a few feet deeper on the Sea Girt reef.. Here the vis was a little better about 10 to 15ft. We managed nice black fish and cod from this site. No decent lobster today . We did see some than may have make the cut but nothing worth working for. We did manage a nice clean danforth and chain. Not a lot for today but it was nice out there. I think I heard the bottom temp was around 50 F.
in Brellie by the local police for going to fast by the golf course - when i stopped i pulled out the TWIC CARD with my licence - She looked at the TWIC CARD, and I said "My name is Bart, perhaps you've heard of me". She said no, but i could see there was a hint of smile on her face. I said "Really?... I am pretty famous around here." I could tell she thought I was smooth.. So I continued, "I am on official Goverment business involving the Dive Vessel Gypsybood." - she said wait right here and went back to her car. I could see in the rear view mirror I had impressed her - after a few minutes she came back smiling and said have a good day... Behold the POWER of the TWIC CARD!!!!!!
No we are not sailing this weekend. I have to work Sat and Sunday we are heading up to my sons school for his birthday. Hopefully we will get out several times around the New Year. I will have Friday, Sat, Sunday and Monday off, yipee! I was just looking at the chart to see what wrecks we have not hit recently or maybe we will even look for a few that are new to us. From what I have heard lately we should have a lot of interest after Christmas. Hopefully we have some nice weather like last week.
