OWD headed out today on the Blue Fathoms, destination the Logwood wreck. Despite the iffy forecast, we bravely motored forth to see what the day would bring. Once clear of the inlet, the sea was an easy 2-3 ft swell with light fog reducing visibility. We arrived at the Logwood and tied in. Due to the fog and clouds the vis on the wreck was a dark 10 feet. The wreck is low lying and we did not spot any evidence of the "logwood" cargo which the ship is named for. Some muttering of a "night dive" was quickly silenced. At the bottom, 93 ft, the temp was 55F. Some lobster came up. The 2nd dive was inshore on the Horseshoe Reef, Rt 88 bridge rubble? Vis again 10 ft at 72 ft, temp a sweltering 59F. The large fluke are here- unfortunately none came up. Another nice day of diving and looking forward to a great dive season! www.oceanwreckdivers.com
