Jack, Jim and I got out today for some diving. This was the best surface conditions we have had in a while. At one point some thick fog rolled in but lifted quickly. In the afternoon the temp on the boat read 79F.
Anyway we headed to one of Jacks favorites (in about 70ft and SE of Barnegat) . Jack and Jim went in . They said there were lots of small lobster but not a lot of keepers. Vis was reported as good. Lots of small seabass and tog but few bigger fish.
Next stop was a dive for me on a project wreck. Just a few feet deeper. Vis 20 to 25, Bottom temp 50f.Lots of tog but none of the giant seabass I had seen recently on this one. How do they know they are in season?
Next stop was a broken down barge just a little deeper. Jack and Jim got some great video footage and reported lots of keeper lobster which they left for me. Needless to say I took my limit in short order.
We headed back in and hit the dock around 2 pm , emptied the cooler and headed home. Nice day outer there!
