A large pod of dolphins were playing about 2 miles offshore as we sailed south.
Seas were calm, although the wind did pick up later in the day. Vis about 25 feet on the bottom with a water temperature of 57. Still a lot of life on the bottom, more than you'd expect this time of the year. Saw quite a few fluke and a few skittish blackfish on the Mohawk. Sea Bass still around, but not game-sized. Plenty of bugs too, but they tend to be deeply entrenched on this wreck. Even a few stripers swimming around down there.
Anyone headed out to the Mohawk needs to be careful with a large strip of gill net stretched across the rear of the wreck. It's sitting low to the bottom and easy to see when the vis is good, but I'd be very wary of a night or braille dive on the Mohawk, you don't want to get tangled up in that stuff.
