Link: South Wall tunnels at the Deep Flooded Mine
counterclockwise from the north, heading eastward. I located a large truck of some kind and marked it. We all spotted wreckage of some kind on another. Bob and Jonah came across the large overhang on the southern walls, which was known. Bob mentioned seeing "stalactites" in an overhanging section, but was not sure it was a tunnel. During dive 2, we focused on the southern walls, indeed the overhanging stone is impressive, and it kept going. I rolled video during my first encounter with the new tunnels, and it's in this video. Visibility was fair, not as good as the Garlock tunnel on dive one, but none the less, this was the first time this tunnel has been dove. We feel that more tunnels exist and at different depths along the walls. We will investigate further, run cave lines with arorrows, and map these out as we find them. I believe these tunnels were hacked out of the solid granite from the 1860's-1870's, the mine flooded in 1897, this is the first time man has laid eyes on them since that year. Note that all three divers in yesterday's operations are all from NJ.
