On Saturday, December 12, 2015, John Eells and I searched along the rarely explored eastern wall, in an attempt to re-locate a tunnel spotted on 7-26-2015, by Bob and Tim Thomas. With basic information that it was in the 180' range, John and I dropped from the down line at the platform, and John ran a reel while I operated the camera. The wall profile meandered along, while we maintained a constant depth in 170'-180' range, and eventually we came back upon the main debris pile, and even the Monte Carlo at 195'. Upon reaching his "thirds", John turned the dive and we returned along the line he left in place. Bob Thomas described a "open book" along the stone which he entered into and before long he said he was in an overhead environment. In the video, I captured a very sharp edged stone structure, possibly what he described, but we were turning the dive at that point. It will have to wait until spring 2016 now. Great dive overall, my 60th dive at the mine, in 45 days of operation. The Hammerhead Extreme CCR with Rev D electronics has never let me down, no failures in over 100 hours in these unforgiving conditions.
