Link: Side tunnel video
Eells, and it also connects, right next to the "Garlock Shaft" at a point where there are three pillars in this video. We believe the pillars are a structural support for the large space, but since the entire tunnel system is carved out of granite, we think it is structurally sound. Soil and water samples have been taken and are being analyzed. Observations are that initially the water was stratified, and this was captured in earlier videos. We believe these tunnels were carved in the 1860s-70s, and we think we are the first ones to visit since 1897, when the mine was flooded. Water temps are constant 41-42 degrees.
