This memory card was set aside for a couple months for a few reasons, but I finally have had a chance to review the footage, and I was surprised how much there was there, so I edited and have provided a link here. Rewind back three months, we were in the middle of our mild summer. It seemed every day at the mine was perfect, in operations and climate, this was an extraordinary day. I had support by Bernie Chowdhury, John Eells, Jesse Kates. Nasreen Hauge and Bill Ahrens. The plan was I would push down a new shot line, which I had gotten some deep soundings, in the 300' range. The shot weight missed the target and landed around 220'. I would simply run a reel and go "downhill", after 25 minutes John Eells would meet me on my ascent to see if I was OK at around 250'. Bernie was to solo dive along the western wall, and do a tour on his own. All went according to plan, we had topside support by Jesse, Bill and Nasreen, and Jesse was in the inflatable over top of me and John with a bottle of O2. In the footage, you can see me actually running into what looked like a side tunnel, I did not penetrate, as it was my turnaround time, a line has been run down to this point, so we can return in the spring. Bernie unwittingly ran into the 1988 Monte Carlo on his dive, and he produced the GoPro video at the end of the day. asked him if he could return to it and mark it the following weekend. Bernie, kind of stunned, said, "Yes, I believe so, but why?" I mentioned quietly to him, that the car he found, was possibly the one the police searched for in 1990, it had a stolen safe in the trunk. At this point, our entire focus changed from finding side tunnels to the liberation of the safe from the trunk of the Monte Carlo, and subsequent lifting to the surface and hoisting onto the dive platform, in secrecy. The next week I would fly to Scapa Flow....
