One of our very good friends and regular diver abruptly passed on Thursday evening.
Pretty much taking the wind out of every one's sails. What a great lose, our hearts and prayers are with his family!
Saturday (still stinging) 8/9
Most wanted to try to run south and we did. Found great water and temp reviews but not the
" knock your socks off " slaughter fest. What was interesting were the viz reports.......I have never had anyone come up and state "50+ viz" in-shore in New Jersey.....next diver 40 ft......next diver 40+.........a couple of 25+'s and finally "Caribbean like".....then Bart came up and said 10-15'. So we would head back to old faithful for another round and a load of fish and bugs were had. Bottom temps on both sites 58*...pretty darn warm and viz more like normal 15-20 ft. There were also some tropicals around the back of the boat (probably from Bertha)
Great day had by all.
I will have pics up shortly.
Sunday 8/10
Back to Cappy's super duper secret wreck where we have just literally devastated the bug and fish population.......and again "old faithful" would not disappoint.
There is obviously something about this super Moon that has Pops going crazy with 2 more bugs to add to his kill list........Sea Bass, Fluke, Winter Flounder, Tog and again a load of bugs would round out the haul. Surface conditions were spectacular, very flat seas great viz.......a little current that picked up as the day went on. Again a winner. These conditions are not gonna last forever.
Pics up shortly
Cappy says we are running all 4 days (Thurs-Sun) If ya wanna jump on call the shop @ 610-631-2288
