Link: Day four diving the deep flooded mine in Brewster
46 degrees F. Bernie ran a reel at first, but after he reeled back in, we tooled around for a bit just using line of sight. It is lights out at 100', even looking straight up. I noticed the sheer wall overhangs our position, as the stone intrudes almost to our shot line, which was easily 20' from the bank. This proves to be some interest later.
Bernie and I noted the crashed deep platform, and made sure we stayed clear of stirring up and leaves on the bottom. Bernie surfaced about 15 minutes after I did, with a TRT of 75 minutes. We were supported by DUI, INC., supplying both of us with the "Blue Heat" undergarment system, and I am supported as well by Juergensen Marine, the innovator of the Hammerhead eCCR.
After our dive, I used the inflatable boat and fish finder to mow the lawn again, with another shot line on board. No soundings deeper than 335' were hit. I dropped another shot line to 325' and one sits at about 300'. Note that due to possible overhanging stone, the depth finder may have no straight shot at the deepest part. Next week I plan to investigate down the deepest run shot line, to see if indeed there is this overhang, and if any horizontal tunnels are in the vicinity. I ended up pulling up two shallower lines, both at 180' or so. Great day overall, progress is made!
