Cement was poured and scored along most of the rocks as you do a decent to the entry. This seems to make footing easier. The steps near the wall remain untouched as does the flat underwater rock at the bottom of the steps. (sorry you still have to climb , not much changed in that respect).
The water flow grate is now an open area which one could get in the water unobstructed by rocks and there is a sandy ledge at the bottom. Check this section out before just hopping in.. The area is open under the grate, but you must be careful.
The biggest change came in the geography under water. Now a ledge of sand exists, where previously it was a gradual slope towards the channel. (not that anyone is diving in the channel.)
The inlet was loaded with fish. Some keepers, more were almost keepers. Black fish, sea bass, juvenile stripers and fluke. Keepers were hiding in the rocks and peeking out knowing I dont carry a gun. (they always know). Mussels cover every surface underwater and are quiet large.
I know from coming in by boat the inlet now resembles a washing machine, but it appears the dredging and construction has only changed the dive site for the better.
Enjoy the warm water!!!!
