We got out Saturday. Calm seas but some heavy fog in the morning. We ran off to the Gulf Trade Stern but there was a small boat fishing her when we got there. I asked the capt if he minded if we dove, he gave some short answer about how it's a free ocean yada yada but didn't sound like he'd appreciate us dropping in. So we moved on. Headed back to some numbers I had in shore a ways but the fog was still too heavy to dive and the wreckage we saw was really small. Decided to run for the Viscaya. Again ran across another small fishing boat, but he didn't mind sharing with us. We stayed as far away as we could, dropped our hook and did some dives. Surface vis 40' plus, thermocline pushed down to about 60' bottom vis was about 15 to 20 silty feet. Found some planted China over by the engine room and managed to grab a few bugs. Not too much life there but still two nice dives. Last dive of the season for us. Had to put the Mary L to bed early this year. We got out two weeks before and had an awesome trip. 13 lobsters, some nice fluke and a 170lb brass plate. Can't wait for next season!
