Wednesday the 8th – OPEN – This was originally a charter but the charterer indicated that he was light on people and his dive-master had to bail so we’ll be running this as an OPEN. Current long range weather is for 2 foot seas with only a 20% chance of rain and 83 degrees. Looks like a perfect day. Destination will depend on the interests of those on-board but I’d like to get another digging trip in. If you’re interested give me a call at 973-887-DEEP(3337)
Saturday the 11th – Tridents – lobsters and fish 100> - Brett indicated that they’re running a bit light and might be willing to tie-in for two rather than doing a majority of “buoy dives”. If you’ve wanted to get out on a Trident dive this would be a good one particularly if ‘buoy dives” aren’t your thing. Bret can be reached at 973-876-5896.
Sunday the 12th – OPEN – One of Lakeland’s instructors Mike Arch needed a boat to finish up an advanced course so this will be a nice laid back Sunday dive. Nothing too deep or difficult just a fun day on the water with good people. If you’re interested give me a call at 973-887-DEEP(3337)
Next Week
Saturday the 18th – No Gills – Stolt 130’ - Visibility is usually very good this far off-shore, sometimes good enough to see the top of the wreck from the surface and the sight of this huge wreck when it first looms into view as you descend the anchor line is extraordinary. There is something awesome about this shipwreck that is somehow lacking in the nearby planned artificial reefs. Kevin can be reached at 609-352-5983.
Sunday the 19th – Lakeland Divers – Arundo 130’ - On April 28th 1942 the Arundo was torpedoed by the U-136. The vessel was a powered by coal fired steam and is 412 feet in length. At the time of its sinking the Arundo was carrying a cargo of cases of evaporated milk, canned herring, lubricating oil, 123 three ton GMC trucks, 2 locomotives and 5000 cases of beer. The wreck now lies in 130 feet of water next to the mud hole Lakeland can be reached at 073-887-0194. This not an entry level dive, anyone signing up needs appropriate experience diving to this depth and in these conditions. The Sea Lion reserves the right to determine whether a diver has sufficient experience for this dive.
