Sunday we made our way out to the Resor. The visibility was only in the 30 foot range here. Not many scallops were to be found, but by the time we headed home there was absolutely no room in the cooler for lobsters. On the way back in we made a detour to check on some numbers and were not disappointed. Two of the crew dropped in to check on the find and take some video for review. This one looks like it is worth a return trip to investigate further. All in all, a great weekend!
Coming up this weekend we have an open boat on Saturday and a private charter on Sunday Aug 5th.
Saturday August 4th Lillian (155 fsw) Open Boat. The Lillian was a victim of a collision in 1939. It usually produces scallops and there is a lot of wreckage to explore. Call Capt Dan 732 232 7878 to book your spot.
Sunday August 5th is a private charter to the U869 (235). There are still 1 or 2 spots available. Contact Sean at (609) 209-3892 if interested.
The following weekend we have the following:
Saturday August 11th back to the Resor (125 fsw) The Scuba Connection This tanker was torpedoed in 1942 and is one of the better NJ dives. If conditions were anything like this weekend you will not want to miss this one. Contact The Scuba Connection, 908 359 1250, to book your spot.
Sunday August 12th 56 Mile Wreck (185 fsw) Open Boat
We haven't been out to this unidentified wreck for a couple of years. Last time there were dinner plate sized scallops lying all over the wreckage. This is the time of year for these offshore trips and this is the only scheduled trip this year. Contact Capt Dan, 732 232 7878, to book your spot on this trip.
The trips have been filling early this year. Don't wait too long to make your plans for the trips coming up later in the summer- Lillian, San Diego, Goulandris and Virginia to name a few. Many of these sites do not get visited often, so there is a lot of interest.
You can find the schedule on the Website, www.deepexpeditions.com . If you know any one who wants to be added to the mailing list, please just respond to this with the e-mail.
Remember, if you have not been out yet this year, the boat is now located at Hoffman's West Marina, 608 Green Ave, Brielle, NJ, 08730. The boat is midway down the slips closest to the railroad bridge.
Looking forward to seeing you out on the boat. Save Diving!
