On Saturday we pushed off a bit early, at around 6:40am to an unknown site. We were to search some 47 miles offshore at some numbers. While we didn't hit the wreck, back up dives were the "Four Daughters" and "RP Resor'!! Not bad choices, the weather affords such alternatives and when you have the crew, fuel and talent on board. The "Four D's" was an easy ride and Capt. Bill and Ken set the hook straight away and I splashed with housed DSLR to try and grab some shots. Seas were good, maybe 2-3', but the vis wasn't spectacular, maybe 30', just a bit less than we had on May 12th. Water temps were chilly, upper forties I would guess today, tho I didn't note it at depth. This being my eighth trip to the "Four D's", been on every known dive to the wreck site, the current wasn't noticeable as it usually is. Lobster's were caught readily by Bill, Dave and Ken that I can recall. Everyone had a great time. Dave had much success going out into the debris field and finding bugs in scattered clam cages. I ventured into the galley and then into the hallway and stairwell, attempting to get to the wheelhouse. I was jammed in pretty well, as it is extremely tight with my eCCR and AL 80 bailout bottle. I finally was able to wiggle back out after dumping all my wings gas, drysuit and most of my CL's. Only possible way to maneuver inside this wreck is on a single tank, open circuit I am sure. Second dive was a short distance away, and we were now under time constraints as the day was getting late. Ken and I splashed and set the anchor quickly and everyone did a second dive rapidly. The "Resor" was kinda dark and lower vis today than I am spoiled with, especially after out May 12th trip. Ken and I scootered back to the stern and he collected scallops. Vis and water temps were identical to the "Four D's", we noticed three thermoclines, last being a balmy and blue 72 degrees! In the surface interval we had the grill going with chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers all perfectly cooked by Capt. Tom. Potato salad, noodle salad, chips galore, sodas and waters a plenty. I've never eaten so well out at sea. Darren also used his brand new Rev D Hammerhead electronics today and was impressed. We had three sets of HH electronics on all three rebreathers, Ken with his Optima, Darren and his Inspo and myself with the HH Extreme. John Thomas caught an awesome monkfish on the "Resor". What a day!!!! Bless this weather.......
