John , Jack and I got out today and decided not to go out too far with the strong west wind. First stop was the Casoon. We had a good 15 ft of vis and warm water on the bottom. We had a ripping current on the surface and some movement on the bottom from the swell. A bunch of nice sea bass (one ling) and several lobster up to 3 lbs. We were hoping to see some fluke but none were spoted.
We decided on the next dive to head into shallow water as we were starting to get pounded even on the Casoon so we stopped on the Charlamange Tower and had about 1 ft of vis.
Lastly we tried a shallow wreck just outside of barnegat inlet but no vis there either.
Nice day on the water as long as you stayed west and hopefully we will have better conditions next week.
