Headed south east along the new boat dock and what a surprise. It look like a juvenile nursery for sea bass, black fish , fluke and stripers. There were many I could not identify. For the first time in the bay I was in the middle of a "bait ball" (thats what it looked like). I have never experienced anything like it. Closest to it was when I got in the middle of migrating stripers along the jetties.
It was totally amazing.
The underwater landscape has totally changed. It reminded me of the ledge dives I have done in California and mexico. Lots of pilings and rock debris make a wonderful reef on the east end of the boat dock. There are hills that go from 9 ft to 17ft in just one drop. Fish are just packed under these man made ledges. For a moment I forgot I was in the bay and thought I was peeking under a hollowed out wreck.
A very surprising and Warm 62 degrees, I stayed almost an hour and totally forgot I was in the shark river bay....
