A few of us on a private boat hit the "City of Athens" on Sunday. Our first dive was ok, with 10 foot viz., but when we moved the anchor and hit the engine and 4 huge boilers, we had 50' viz! It was great coming down the line and seeing that massive engine as clear as day, and boy were they filled with fish. From 2 dives, we ended up with about a dozen lobster, a trigger fish, Atlantic Spade, and black fish. There were a bunch of flatties, but nobody brought them up. I am definitely coming back to this one.
While we were 20 miles out, we noticed we had a stow-away! Yes, a yellow finch was flying around the boat. When I was resting in the v-berth, I was awakened by it landing on my leg. My dive buddy eventually caught it, and it fell asleep on his chest. Later, I caught it and it fell asleep in my hands. We kept it safe until we returned, and I put it on a piling on the dock in Cape May.
