that should say scratches. I scartch the furniture. That makes them yell at me but, they always bring us our food after that.
I like spell checker but sometimes it gets too big for its pixels. Previous Message
...the tough love approach in training your purrents. We've never tried that. We're scared we'd get kissings, the way we did when I (Glowie) hiddened in the closet for 2 months. But if tough love would get us any food we wanted, wherever we wanted ... we will try it! We will have to be extraordinarily brave, however.

to train your Mom so she will do whatever you tell her. Humans are so gullible, they can be trained fairly easily.
Our purrents are trained to carry our wet food to the extra bedroom each night around the same time. If they don't Tucker stretches on the tray tables or the furniture.
That positive reinforcement sounds good too. Previous Message
We are such nice cats. We watched our mom change the water in our fountain, and we encouraged her the entire time. Then, when she was finished, we both sniffed at the fountain to positively reinforce the fountain-cleaning behavior. Of course, after we'd sufficiently patronized our mom, we walked away to do something else. But we hear that praising humans, even if you don't really mean it, is a great training mechanism. We didn't mind pretending to care about the water fountain just to teach our mom how to behave!
