I talked to my mom about it, and she said that, in her opinion, Novacaine has been improved. She used to refuse to let dentists use it. It made her act silly and out of control, and she didn't like that feeling. Then she needed it -- and they used a TON of it! -- when she had her root canal (which must be something like the Panama Canal, but it's only for teethies), and she was calm throughout the procedure. So go figure. Either mom stopped reacting to it, or they've drained the silly juice out of it. In any case, it does work. Mom didn't feel any pain during her procedure.

Novacaine sometime is worser then the procedure, this last time mom went to oral surgeon her reg dentist recommended for her tooth extraction. It was so easy. novacaine was so localize, just the spot where the tooth was, over in 5 sec hardly any bleeding. Mom was impressed & shocked it was nothing. She normally have terrible time with novacaine numbing/hurting half her face. Omar
That is a nice picture of you looking out the window. Look at your long fur hanging off the side of the table. *bat, bat, swatting at your fur and tail*
That cat-are-act surgery can be a good thing. Our Grandfur didn't have to wear his glasses after he had his done.
We don't know anything about gum surgery. Pawpaw's teethies are so bad the dentist wants to pull out all the ones on the top, and give him a full plate. But Pawpaw won't do it because the dentist doesn't believe him when the Novocain wears off and it hurts. Momma's insurance doesn't pay for the kind that just let's you sleep through the whole thing.
Good luck to your Pawpaw. Let us know how it goes.
Here's a pic of good old days when windows were always open.
