I am not an expert on property laws in Britain but as Elizabeth II was then its monarch, she gifted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex the property on the estate of Windsor Castle. Elizabeth II died last September and her throne was inherited by her eldest son King Charles III. Therefore, the king became the main custodian of Windsor Castle, among others. Anything Elizabeth II had been the custodian of have been passed on to Charles. Now he has the 'right' to "ungift" what Elizabeth gave to some people, including Prince Harry. Monarch-to-Monarch passage of things, including properties (and for example, jewelry once owned and worn by Elizabeth II). Again, I am not an expert. Maybe someone else knows more. |
