I wonder what she liked to read as an adult? One interviewer mentioned her discussing a book about Tchaichovsky. Perhaps it was the same biographer who said that she knew detailed information about the Rachmaninoff concertos that most pianists didn't know. She knew more about "high brow" music than her "Disco Di" image suggested.
